Step
1: Create a Sphere (Objects=> Primitive => Sphere). Double click the
Sphere icon in the Object Manager and input 36 for Segments. Leave the
other settings as default and click OK.  |

2: Make the Sphere editable (Structure=>Make Editable).  |

Step
3: First you are going to rotate the Sphere 90 degrees without rotating
the axis. Using the Model Tool (Tools=>Model) go to the Coordinates Manager
and enter 90 degrees in the P field under Rotation.  |

4: Activate the Object Axis Tool (Tools=>Object Axis) and enter 0 degrees
in the P field under Rotation. Duplicate the Sphere by Ctrl+dragging it
in the Object Manager. Name the first Sphere 'eyeball' and the second Sphere
'lens'. Make 'lens' invisible by clicking the top grey dot to its left
in the Object Manager until it is red, then make sure 'eyeball' is selected.  |

5: In Polygons mode select the polygons as shown.  |

Step
6: Activate the Extrude Tool (Structure=>Extrude) and enter -10m in
the Offset field in the Active Tool Manager. Click Apply.  |

7: Next activate the Extrude Inner Tool (Structure=>Extrude Inner)
and enter -25m in the Offset field. Click Apply.  |
|
Step
8: With the polygons still selected use the Extrude Tool (Structure=>Extrude)
again and extrude the polygons to 1/3 of the Sphere.  |

9: Activate the Scale Tool (Tools=>Scale) and scale the polygons up
but keep some distance from the outside of the Sphere.  |

Step
10: Extrude the polygons once more until they reach 2/3 of the Sphere
and scale them up as well, again keep some distance to the outside.  |

11: Perform the last extrusion. The inside of your eyeball should now
look very similar to the picture shown.  |

12: Switch to the Points Tool (Tools=>Points) and select the last point
on the inside and drag it in the Z direction to give the back more of a
round shape.  |

13: In Polygons mode select the polygons as shown. Go to Selection=>Set
Selection. Double click the newly created Polygon Selection Tag in the
Object Manager and name it ¡®diaphragm¡¯.  |

14: In the Right View (F3) drag the selected polygons a bit inward
so they line up with the next row of polygons.  |

15: Back in the Perspective View (F1) select the polygons as shown.
Make sure no other tags are selected in the Object Manager. Choose Selection=>Set
Selection and call the new Polygon Selection Tag 'iris'. Next select all
polygons on the inside of your eyeball and give this selection a Polygon
Selection Tag as well. Call it 'black'. Lastly, select the 'iris' and 'diaphragm'
polygons and create a new Polygon Selection Tag. Name it 'i-color'. Use
'iris' and 'diaphragm' to control the size of the pupil and 'i-color' to
map your iris texture.  |

16: Unhide the 'lens' Sphere and give it a Display Tag. In the Object
Manager go to File=>New Tag=>Display Tag, and enter the settings as shown.  |

17: In Polygons mode select the polygons as shown.
Step 18:
Activate the Extrude Inner Tool (Structure=>Extrude Inner) and extrude
them until they reach the border of the next row of polygons.
Step 19:
Next select the center polygons.  |

20: In the Coordinates Manager you will find that the size of the selection
is 34.73m for X and Y, change the values into 47m and click Apply.  |

21: Change your view to the Right View (F3).
Step 22:
With the Move Tool active (Tools=>Move) and only the Z axis active, drag
the selection a bit in the -Z direction.  |

23: Activate the Points Tool (Tools=>Points), select the top point,
and drag it to the left as well. Apply a Transparent texture with Displacement
enabled (height = 1m), use the checkerboard with two white fields as the
image. This way the lens will be bigger than the eyeball. You should drop
the eyeball in a Hyper NURBS Object. If your lens gives creases when it's
in a Hyper NURBS Object then keep it out and subdivide it once for a smoother
look (and do not use the Hyper NURBS). In this case disable Displacement
in the Transparent texture, you will not need it.  |
